fatty me

So, I did this wacky thing. I joined a gym.

It was a necessity, I have to say. Necessity like I have gone up two dress sizes in the last month. Despite breastfeeding, which I was told would take the baby weight off.

I guess it did, until I put it back on again.

Somehow I think seven weet-bix every morning and three ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwiches for lunch might have something to do with it.

Yeah, I’ve got a bit of a portion-size issue at the moment.

I. Can’t. Stop. Eating.

It’s compulsive.

I went to my parents for dinner tonight and my mother had to actually refuse to give me another burrito: No, dear, you cannot have another one.

*sigh*

So anyway, I went to the gym for the first time today.

And it wasn’t so bad.

They had one of those heart rate checker things on the stationary bike, and I was surprised to see that the aerobic activity zone is nowhere near as painful as I thought it was. I almost, almost enjoyed myself. It was almost pleasant.

I guess I have too many bad memories of being forced by sadistic PE teachers to run around and around the basketball court till I was red and gulping and bulgy-eyed. No wonder I’ve avoided exercise for the last fifteen years or more.

Those PE teachers.

Even now I’m an adult and they are my colleagues, I still think most of them suck.

Me too! I lost the pregnancy weight almost overnight and then whammo! started gaining weight at a breakneck speed since. I’m disgusted with myself.

I dropped my weight in the first month. The only thing I can’t get rid of is the 10 lbs I gained during treatment and I really don’t mind it because I now have a lovely curvey bum. πŸ™‚

Don’t tell me I’ve got more weight gain to look forward to now! Son of a bitch.

Oh I am so seriously in the same boat. I was down to 3 lbs below my highest pregnancy weight at 2 weeks post pardum and now I am about 20 pounds over that!! UGH! Portion control is a huge problem for me too so I think Aiden and I will definitely be taking a LOT more walks, even if it is cold. That’s why he has a coat and hat. πŸ™‚

I also thought that breastfeeding would take off my weight. Turns out, notsomuch.

I joined a gym, too, when I was about 6 weeks postpartum, and since my thyroid currently sucks ass, have been too exhausted to use it lately. But man, do I LOVE it.

Congrats, for taking a step. PE teachers scared us all.

I knew it – PE teachers suck. It’s not just a schoolgirl thing. Looking forward to a healthier Meg.
